How the ALA can help with overcoming a natural disaster

Posted On: Tuesday, 11 June 2024

After a natural disaster, the world often witnesses the resilience and strength of communities facing unimaginable challenges. Whether it's a hurricane, earthquake, wildfire, or flood, the aftermath of such events can leave a path of destruction.

Natural disasters can strike suddenly, catching people off guard. Homes are destroyed and livelihoods are disrupted.

The American Legion Auxiliary remains a constant source of support for those who have experienced a natural disaster, whether it be relying on unit members for support or distributing Auxiliary Emergency Fund grants to those who have suffered in the wake of destruction. Auxiliary members and friends can help by making sure this fund is financially supported. Donations can be made here.

Recovery from a natural disaster is a long journey. As communities pick up the pieces and start anew, they confront numerous challenges, from securing shelter and clean water to restoring essential services and infrastructure.

AEF is here to help to ensure these needs are met. To learn more about the AEF, visit www.ALAforVeterans.org/AEF
