As our thoughts turn to spring and preparation for Easter, many veterans support organizations like the American Legion Auxiliary are already way ahead of us. They’ve planned and prepared to make sure our men and women celebrating this Easter away from their families are remembered with care packages, cards, letters, and special events planned for their families on their behalf.

So what can we do? We can pray for them today, and every day – but especially during Easter.

Here’s a prayer you can read aloud for our brave servicemembers deployed this Easter:

God, I pray for those serving in our military. I join my faith with all of those also praying this prayer. Please bless those serving near and far. May they know that You are with them no matter what they face. Watch over them and keep them safe. Give them comfort and peace as they celebrate this Easter away from their families. Give them courage and strength for every task before them. Meet every need their family has while they are away. Help the time away to pass quickly, and bring them safely home after their deployment. Amen.
