At this annual ALA event, incoming department (state) leadership are briefed on relevant administrative issues from National Headquarters, and members participate in dialogue and group exercises between department leadership and the national leadership team on ALA objectives for the upcoming year, including the national plan for enhancing membership in the Auxiliary. These state-level members also receive informal mentoring and share “best practice” information with fellow attendees.
